Hello and welcome to my page about Whippets! They are probably my favourite breed of dog, as well as Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and Shetland Sheepdog. The following information has been provided courtesy of the American Kennel Club:
Whippets are very fast. Some can reach speeds of up to 35 miles per hour. They are a short coated breed, so weekly grooming and an occasional bath is all that is needed. They are medium sized and have a medium amount of energy to burn, so they are not the kind of breed that lives in a high-rise apartment. The AKC ranks Whippets as the 55th most popular breed. Their personality could be summarized as affectionate, calm, and playful. Below is the American Kennel Club's breed standard for Whippets:
